My cat won’t eat the gummies – what now?Updated 8 days ago

Don’t worry – many cat owners know this problem. Cats are creatures of habit and skeptical of anything new: whether it’s a toy, sleeping spot, or food. That’s completely normal and not a sign that your cat fundamentally rejects the gummies.

The key to success is: patience and gentle familiarization 💛

Especially if your cat already has health issues, it’s worth staying consistent – because the long-term benefits of the natural ingredients make every effort worthwhile.

Here’s how to best get your cat used to the gummies:

Week 1: Crush 1/4 piece daily (approx. a “gummy ear”) as finely as possible – ideally with a mortar. Add 2–3 drops of water to soften it. Mix it well into your cat’s usual food – ideally in a way that she doesn’t even notice it.

Week 2: Increase to 1/2 piece per day – continue to crush and mix in.

Week 3: Raise to 1 whole piece per day – if your cat accepts it, you can then gradually increase to the recommended maximum of 4 pieces per day (depending on variety and weight).

Important: If your cat suddenly refuses the gummies again or won’t touch the food:

🚫 Don’t force it.
⏸️ Just take a 5–6 day break and then start again from the beginning – with tiny amounts and lots of patience. This is not a setback, but a natural process.

Additional tips for feeding:

Enhance with aromatic broth
If your cat likes broth, you can dissolve the snack in a lukewarm, unsalted broth (or our cat soup). This enhances the flavor and makes it even more irresistible. This method works especially well if your cat already loves liquid treats or sauces.
💡 Tip: You can easily make broth yourself by gently cooking chicken or fish – of course, without spices!

Warm slightly before feeding
Cats are more responsive to scents when they’re warm. Warm the gummies (e.g. with your hands, warm water, or a water bath) before feeding. The stronger smell can spark curiosity and encourage them to try the snack.
💡 Tip: Never heat snacks in the microwave – it could destroy nutrients or alter the taste.

Offer the snack playfully
Some cats are curious and playful – so why not present the snack like a toy? Roll it across the floor or hide it in an interactive food toy. This turns feeding into a little adventure and helps your cat associate the snack with fun.
💡 Tip: If your cat doesn’t play, try a small treat-scent game instead: hide tiny pieces in different spots.
